Green Belt in Cengkareng Timur Arranged to Flood Prevention

Some 12 PPSU personnel conduct the green belt arrangement on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road, RT 06/08, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district, precisely in front of the Satyagama University.

Hopefully, it can minimize inundation and make the area more beautiful

Cengkareng Timue Urban Village Head, Boy Raya Purba expressed the arrangement was carried out by filling the land to make it higher and parallel to the height of the road.

"This green belt is lower and it is prone to being flooded when it rains. The arrangement itself has been underway since last week," he expressed, Monday (3/18).

After it was done, it would be continued by planting various types of ornamental plants type sirih gading, sanseviera, salvia, and patah tulang, as well as various productive plants, such as mango, cassava, and water guava.

"We're also coordinating with the West Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency to attach storm drains in order to prevent the overflowing waters of the channel onto the road and green belt," he explained.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents, Beni Warsono (51).

"Hopefully, it can minimize flooding and make the area more beautiful," he hoped.
